She’s not only a boss lady, but she takes the time to care, understand, and be able to put together your perfect piece (or the perfect piece for a loved one, hint hint)

Within moments of talking to her, I learned that her commitment to customer service, and especially quality- is absolutely top-notch.

"Good Vibes Only" isn't just a neon sign on her wall; it’s the foundation of her entire brand. During our planning call, Erica shared the meaning behind her logo, the Lotus flower.

It represents the idea that beautiful things can bloom even from the mud and darkness.

Erica’s Photoshoot

Let’s be honest about winter in Erie. It usually involves a very specific walk across a parking lot. You know the one. It is that terrifying "penguin waddle" where you try to look cool while praying you don’t slip on hidden ice. Now imagine doing that walk while clutching thousands of dollars of camera gear.

That was my arrival at My Salon Suites on 26th Street. I was doing my best to stay upright to meet with Erica Boncella, the owner of Calm Creations.

I made it inside safely (and gracefully… I’m sure) to find Erica getting her makeup done by Erin Simons of Bubbs Beauty. The vibe started off calm and professional. Erica was focused. She was working on a stunning custom silver bracelet with paw prints and birthstones. watching her work with such precision was impressive. She even let me capture a few shots of her looking through her magnifier, showing off that intense eye for detail that makes her permanent jewelry so secure.

But then the door opened and the energy shifted.

In walked Heather Carbonelli-Hill, owner of Knot Just Hair and Erica’s best friend.

We had originally planned to head out to a local coffee shop for the second half of the session. We wanted that lifestyle aesthetic with the window light and the latte art. But as soon as Heather and Erica started joking around, I knew we weren’t going anywhere.

The sun was going down outside but the energy inside the suite was skyrocketing. The nervousness vanished. It was replaced by genuine laughter and the kind of "Boss Lady" confidence you only get when your hype woman is in the room.

We pivoted. We scrapped the travel plans and leaned into the reality of the moment. We captured Erica in her element, surrounded by her pink tool chest, her "Good Vibes Only" neon sign, and the community she loves. It wasn't just about the jewelry anymore. It was about the experience of sitting in her chair.
